Me Uni ("we", "us") takes your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information when you use the Me Uni student housing platform (meuni-housing.pages.dev and related domains, the "Platform").

This Platform operates in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1.1 Data We Collect

• Registration data: Name, email address, and optional phone number you provide
• Usage data: Pages visited, country/region of origin, device type, time spent on pages, visit timestamps
• Technical data: Approximate geolocation (country and region level) inferred from your IP address
• Local storage: Anonymous identifiers stored on your device to distinguish new vs returning visitors

1.2 How We Use Your Data

• To send you platform updates and housing-related notifications
• To improve platform features and user experience
• To analyse visitor behaviour in aggregate (no personal identification)
• To fulfil legal obligations

1.3 Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers:

• Supabase (USA): Database hosting for registration and analytics data
• Cloudflare (USA): Website hosting and CDN
• ipapi.co: Anonymous IP-based country lookup for visitor statistics

All providers comply with GDPR or equivalent standards.

1.4 Data Retention

Registration data is retained until you request deletion or the platform ceases operations. Analytics data is retained for up to 12 months.

2.1 Nature of the Platform

Me Uni is an information aggregation and reference platform. Listings displayed on the platform are sourced from publicly available third-party rental websites and are provided for reference only. They do not constitute an offer or commitment under any tenancy agreement.

2.2 Disclaimer

• Me Uni is not a landlord or letting agent and takes no part in any rental transaction
• Listing information (price, availability, description) may differ from actual conditions — always verify with the original source
• Me Uni accepts no liability for any direct or indirect loss arising from use of platform information
• AI recommendation results are algorithm-based and do not represent Me Uni's endorsement of any listing
• AI-generated application materials are provided as drafts; users are responsible for verifying accuracy
• Platform services are provided "as is" without guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free availability

2.3 Intellectual Property

The platform's design, code, branding and original content are the property of Me Uni and may not be reproduced or used commercially without authorisation.

2.4 Governing Law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Switzerland.

Me Uni uses browser local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) to improve your experience. We do not use traditional tracking cookies.

What We Store

• Session identifier (sessionStorage): Identifies your current browsing session; cleared automatically when you close the tab
• Visitor identifier (localStorage): Anonymous random ID to distinguish new vs returning visitors; contains no personal information
• Login state (sessionStorage): Admin panel only; records your logged-in status
• Registration state (localStorage): Records whether you have registered to avoid repeated prompts

You can clear local storage data at any time through your browser settings. After clearing, you will be treated as a new visitor.

By registering on the Me Uni platform you agree to the following:

• The information you provide is truthful, accurate and complete
• You are at least 16 years old, or have obtained parental/guardian consent
• You agree to receive housing-related service notifications from Me Uni (you may unsubscribe at any time)
• Your account data will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy
• Me Uni reserves the right to terminate accounts in cases of misuse
